Meditation Technique

Meditation is not a technique or method. But at the beginning you need some techniques which are scientific. You are then saved from unnecessary wandering, groping etc. If you do not know any technique it will take time. We need those techniques because we need to align ourselves to meditate fully. Think about a child when starts walking at the very first time of his life. He needs support from his parents. When he learns walking completely, then the support is no longer needed.

Same thing happens here also. At the very first of your life you will need techniques as a support. But when you truly reach into meditative state with the help of this technique, you do not need any technique. At that time only you will get to know that the meditation is not a technique at all. It cannot be a technique. It is witnessing. A new sight will open in your life then. Just like a child when starts walking by himself.

Sit Idle and do nothing.

If you are said that sit idle you can sit idly very easily. But the problem will be do nothing. You will not do anything physical, that is for sure. But what about your mind. It will start chattering. The mad man will have the full form and it will do everything for your damage. So do nothing will really be a challenge to you. In the beginning you have to give effort to stop this mad man. Slowly when you will be used to, then this state will be your natural. At that time, you do not need to give effort to idle your mind. You may walk, you may sit, you may eat, every time you will be idle with your mind.

Find the Right Technique.

Now the question is how to choose one technique. There are lot of techniques in meditation. You will be taught with those techniques. You should play with those techniques one by one. But play with one technique at least for three days. Then you will realize automatically whether this method is for you or not. You will realize something explodes in you or not, some extraordinary realization happens in you or not. If it happens, then understand the technique is for you. When get that technique practice it for at least three months.

Your mind is very much open when you play for something. But this mind gets closed when it is very serious. So, at first play with all techniques to find out the right technique for you. Once you find it out, then leave all other techniques and practice it as long as you can. If you do not find the right technique, then keep on playing with techniques one by one. The life is yours; you have to find your way of inner journey. So, there should not be any give up. How did you find your favorite food, just think about that. Just remember that if the technique is not for you, then nothing will happen. You can try it through your whole life but there will be nothing. Right technique will attune you within some minutes.

Drop the technique.

When we fall in sick, we use to take prescribed medicines. When we get cure, we use to stop taking medicines. When you are totally attuned with your inner world, then you have to drop the technique. Meditation is not the technique. It is used to carry you in that meditative state. Once you reach there drop the technique and then enjoy the blissfulness. Technique is only used as a vehicle. Once you reach your home leave the vehicle. You cannot live with this vehicle. Fully enjoy your watchfulness. At the beginning you will suddenly fall into that state. But slowly, slowly by practicing the technique you can spend more time with your inner world.

Suggestions.

When you want to start meditation, then disengage yourself from every kind of activity like mobile phones, meetings, TV, and the most importantly your thoughts, the mad man. You can enter the meditation room by leaving everything of your life just for say one hour. This one our you must totally disengage from everything. You have 23 hours left to engage yourself with the outer world. But for this one hour you give to your inner world in total. You need to be alone in your meditation room. That room will be your personal room, or it should be for one hour only.

Always sit comfortably. You can sit in a chair, or on ground. The real purpose is to become comfortable so that you can forget your body. If you are not comfortable, you will not be able to concentrate. You will lack at the first layer of your inner journey. Next other layers will then be closed. So comfortable sitting is the most important thing.
